June 6, 2002 - Highland Cove Kicks off Utah’s First-Ever On-Site Active Lifestyles Program for Seniors on June 20
SALT LAKE CITY – Highland Cove Retirement Community, 3750 Highland Dr., will kick off its new Active Lifestyles Program with an Active Lifestyles Day for seniors and their families on Thursday, June 20, from noon to 4 p.m. Activities will include aerobics, balance assessments, nutrition seminars, osteoporosis screenings, Tai Chi demonstrations and massage therapy. Tours of the physical therapy, jacuzzi and fitness rooms will also be given.
Highland Cove is Utah’s first retirement community to provide an on-site Lifestyles program helping seniors remain healthy and active within the comfort of their own residence.
“This new program is the first of its kind,” Marianne Hales, Highland Cove Lifestyles Coordinator, said, “and it helps our residents stay at the ‘top of their game.’”
Hales continued, “This new program helps us assist residents in all aspects of remaining healthy and active for as long as possible. We currently offer swimming and aerobics classes, walking clubs, stretching and balance exercises and dietary management seminars.”
Stan Ketcher, Highland Cove General Manager, added, “We are dedicated to making sure our residents stay active and informed – and it shows. In addition to having a Lifestyles Coordinator, we also have a full-time physical therapist, massage therapist, podiatrist and other health care professionals.”
Hales concluded, “We invite the community to come and see ‘the healthy good life’ at Highland Cove.”

I love living at Highland Cove because I chose to "Be There" in lieu of keeping up a big house and two-acre yard. Being pampered and having gorgeous Utah mountain views is also a perfect joy! You too will agree after the first visit.
