August 29, 2002 - Highland Cove “Honors the Spirit of our Nation” with National Assisted Living Week September 8-14
SALT LAKE CITY, August 29, 2002 – Highland Cove Retirement Park, 3750 Highland Dr., will celebrate National Assisted Living Week, September 8-14. Festivities will include a luncheon on Sunday, September 8 at noon, an ice cream social at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, and America Day on Wednesday, September 11, featuring an outdoor patriotic concert by the “Phoenix Band” at 6:30 p.m.
Assisted Living Week will conclude with an “Honoring the Spirit of our Nation” program recognizing Highland Cove veterans on Friday, September 13, at 2:30 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
“During National Assisted Living Week, we are privileged to honor and celebrate the lives of our residents and the crucial role assisted living plays in helping our nation’s seniors live as independently as possible,” Stan Ketcher, general manager, said. “This year’s theme, ‘Honoring the Spirit of Our Nation,’ is special to us, as the week falls over the anniversary of the September 11 tragedies.”
Ketcher continued, “While we mourn the losses of that day, we will also be celebrating the lives of those who have honored our country through service.
“We hope the week of events will encourage community members to visit Highland Cove, take a tour, and get to know some of the special people who live here and the compassionate associates who care for them,” Ketcher concluded.
Highland Cove, owned by Life Care Centers of America, offers living accommodations to more than 250 residents, with condominiums, one and two bedroom apartments, studios, several assisted living styles and private nursing care. Highland Cove also offers a complete range of services and activities.

I love living at Highland Cove because I chose to "Be There" in lieu of keeping up a big house and two-acre yard. Being pampered and having gorgeous Utah mountain views is also a perfect joy! You too will agree after the first visit.
